PETER LONGHURST

I am a Chartered Accountant with 40 years experience in advising small , medium and large businesses and I have established a reputation as a reliable advisor and confidant to people starting out their careers.

 

I have concentrated on Family Business advising and have been a Non Executive Director for 20 years of one of Australia’s leading furniture manufacturing businesses which has been family owned for 116 years.

 

I have presented many papers on business improvement techniques throughout the World and have addressed the Worldwide Conferences of BKR International and Alliott Pierson International , both leading groups of International Accountants and Consultants.

 

I am an accredited Mindshop Facilitator, having joined  Mindshop ( a  Worldwide Network of Business Consultants ) 12 years ago. I have advised several medium to large businesses in the area of Business Planning,Succession Planning and strategic issues centred on Continuous Improvement,Waste Reduction and Profit Improvement. Since 2003 I have chaired Mindshop Excellence Groups with projects at Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Limited in assisting Management with communication and marketing issues.

 

I am currently involved with The Irish Chamber of Commerce in Australia and play an active role in the Mentor Programme.

 

I am an Internationally published author, father of 3, grandfather of 3. My wife and I enjoy playing golf all round the world. In the year 2000 the Prime Minister and Governor General  of Australia awarded me The Australian Sports Medal for services to Rugby League as a Referee.
